SUPER-VIBREX - the system for cast-in-situ concrete drive piles with pile footing

The VIBREX pile is a cast-in-situ concrete drive pile with an upright, slender shaft. It is available in different sizes with shank diameters of 34 cm to 61 cm and load-bearing capacities of up to 2800 kN depending on the existing subsoil. The maximum possible pile length is 30 m and the maximum possible inclination is 4:1.

An in-situ concrete drive pile

An in-situ concrete drive pile is formed when a tube fitted with a base plate is driven into the ground. The cavity created as a result is filled with concrete until the pile is finished.

To manufacture a SUPER-VIBREX pile

SUPER-VIBREX piles are manufactured by driving a thick-walled tube, sealed hermetically by a steel plate, into the soil with a pile driver. After reaching the required depth, the tube must be checked for dryness and the connection reinforcement must be inserted to the correct length before the whole length of the pile can be filled with concrete.
Immediately thereafter, the tube is loosened from the subsoil with the help of a vibrator and lifted about 2 m from the ground. The piling pipe is again filled with concrete and closed with a lid. Then the pipe must be drilled into the ground again up to the original depth. This causes the concrete to come out from the bottom end of the pipe.

Thus, the soil surrounding the pile is displaced and compressed. This procedure may be repeated any number of times until the pile footing has achieved its required volume.

At first, the tube is lifted completely from the ground with the help of a vibrator. The vibration ensures on the one hand that the tube breaks away from the soil; on the other hand it ensures that the concrete is compressed and even the smallest soil cavities are closed. This leads to a very good interlocking of the pile and the subsoil. After the concrete hardens, the finished pile can be cut to its required height and the connection reinforcement can be exposed.

The basic equipment

The basic equipment with leader and drive unit can be moved on tracks. To change the direction, the device is lifted from the ground, the moving mechanism is rotated in the new direction and the process is repeated after lowering it. The building site is thus barely damaged.
